A native of Schenectady, New York, JP Barkenhagen joined CCBG Architects in 2021, bringing a dynamic blend of technical expertise and creative curiosity to his role as Project Manager. His portfolio spans senior living, commercial, multifamily, adaptive reuse, and industrial projects, with a particular strength in leveraging technology to enhance the design process.
JP is highly skilled in Revit modeling, BIM management, laser scanning, and construction administration. He has extensive experience capturing site data with laser scanners and translating it into precise 2D and 3D models; ensuring accuracy from concept through construction. Passionate about emerging tools and workflows, JP continually explores new software and technologies that keep design at the forefront.
Outside the office, JP is a STEM advocate and co-founder of a nonprofit organization, where he serves as treasurer. He’s also a self-proclaimed Killer Robots aficionado (yes, he builds them) and holds the unofficial title of fastest pepperoni pizza maker. Clocking in at 36 seconds for a perfect pie. JP is currently pursuing his Arizona architecture license.
Best business advice he’s received: “Wow the customer; make it right. Any small cost to keep them as a customer is worth it compared to the large cost to find a new one.”
Best business advice he’s shared: “Plan for the worst. If it happens you will be ready. If the worst doesn’t happen, you will still be better suited for the future.”
